Peripheral Arterial Disease

A peripheral arterial exam of the legs uses ultrasound to look for narrowing or blockages of the arteries in your legs.  The exam will give the doctor information about the location and amount of any narrowing due to a buildup of plaque in the arteries.  During this exam you will lie on your back.

  • This exam extends from the top of the thigh to the ankle.  Please wear loose-fitting undergarments.
